Help Sponsor an Adopted Holocaust Survivor
Help Sponsor Grafted’s Adopted Holocaust Survivor!
Grafted's ongoing project
Grafted has had to special opportunity to support/ "adopt" a holocaust survivors who are living in Israel below the poverty line. These precious people are in need of practical assistance and care and The International Christian Embassy, through its branches around the world, is raising support to help assist them with their basic needs such as food and utilities. In doing so it is a testimony of the love and care Christians can now show given what terrible atrocities they have lived through.
Chava Givoni’s Story
Grafted’s adopted Holocaust Survivor is called Chava. She is 83 years old and comes originally coming from
Hungary. Chava survived three concentration camps under Nazi Germany. After the war ended she found out that her entire family, except one cousin, had died in the Auswitz death camp. Having no one and nothing to go back to in Hungary, Chava eventually got on a boat to come to Israel in 1948.
Grafted together with the ICEJ Aid department of the Embassy make regular visits to Chava who lives currently in the heart of Israel’s capital - Jerusalem. During a recent visit we learned that Chava struggles to walk and that she lost her hearing almost completely due to a disease . Due to her poor health, she has many medical expenses. On top of that, both of her daughters are severely mentally handicapped and even though Chava is 83, she still try’s to visit and assist them as much as possible.
In speaking to Chava about the holocaust, it was touching to hear her say that even though all the family and loved ones were murdered by this terrible Nazi regime, she will not harbour hate in her heart towards those who have sought to kill and destroy other innocent human beings, “Would it help me? No, the hatred would only eat me from within”, she states.
Through Grafted and the ICEJ Aid Department of the International Christian Embassy, Chava is given monthly financial aid to cover her expenses and make her life more comfortable. Because Chava’s condition is worsening, Grafted is sending her groceries each month directly to her home so that she will not need to carry heavy things. Most importantly for our staff and for Chava, we like to spend time with her on visits to hear her stories and show her that there are Christian young adults around the world who love and support her.
Help Us Adopt Chava
We are opening this opportunity for all young adults around the world to give our love, support and comfort to those who have suffered in the Holocaust. Through your regular or one time donation, Grafted Young Adults can successfully adopt and take care of this precious lady. To help support Chava, please visit the ICEJ Holocaust Survivor donation page.
Thank you taking your part to “adopt” a survivor of the holocaust!
“The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. The LORD sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to the ground.” Psalm 147:2-6
